This policy explains how PV Yield handles calculator inputs, local storage, weather lookups, cookies, analytics, and advertising.

Information you enter

PV Yield lets you enter project inputs such as country, city, coordinates, system size, cost, tariff, financing, loss assumptions, and custom monthly weather values. These inputs are used to calculate solar investment estimates.

Local storage

If you use the save feature, PV Yield stores project inputs in your browser local storage. Local storage remains on your device unless you clear it, reset the calculator, or clear browser data.

Weather and geocoding requests

When you use country, city, latitude, or longitude lookup, the calculator may send the required location values to third-party weather or geocoding services. These services can process the submitted location data to return coordinates, irradiation, or climate values.

Cookies, consent, and advertising

PV Yield uses a consent choice before optional Google advertising and analytics storage is granted. The default setting denies optional ad and analytics storage until a user accepts. If a user rejects, the calculator remains available and only essential browser storage for security, functionality, and saved calculator inputs is used.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads when allowed by the user's choices and applicable law. Google's use of advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to PV Yield and other websites. Users can also manage personalized advertising through Google ad settings and browser cookie controls.

Analytics

If analytics are accepted, PV Yield collects aggregated information such as page views, device type, browser type, approximate region, referring pages, and feature usage. Analytics is used to improve performance, content, and usability.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland users

For EEA, UK, and Switzerland traffic, PV Yield requires review with a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized ads are served. Until that setup is confirmed, optional ad personalization and analytics storage remain denied by default unless a user chooses to accept optional cookies.

Data retention

Calculator values saved in local storage remain until the user removes them. Server logs, analytics data, and advertising data, if enabled, follow the retention settings of the relevant service providers.
